Who receives a social scholarship

The social scholarship is paid to students who, based on the results of the academic semester, have no academic debt, unsatisfactory study results, are included in the rating in accordance with these Rules and are not on academic leave, from among:

1. Orphans and children deprived of parental care, and persons from their number in the case of continuing education until the age of 23 or until graduation from educational institutions in accordance with Article 62 Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education";

2 Persons who were left without parents during the period of education aged 18 to 23 (whose parents died/declared dead, died or went missing), according to Article 8 Law of Ukraine "On ensuring organizational and legal conditions for social protection of orphans and children deprived of parental care"; 

3. Persons who, according to Law of Ukraine "On the status and social protection of citizens who suffered as a result of the Chernobyl disaster" have benefits during the appointment of a scholarship;

4. Miners who have at least three years of underground work experience in accordance with Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Increasing the Prestige of Mining Work";

5. Persons who became students within three years after obtaining basic and/or full general secondary education, whose parents are miners, who have at least 15 years of underground work experience or died as a result of an accident at work or who have been diagnosed with disability I or II groups, in accordance with Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Increasing the Prestige of Mining Labor";

6. Persons recognized as injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, participants in hostilities in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection", and their children (until the children finish their studies at an educational institution, but no longer than until they reach the age of 23 ) in accordance with Article 44 of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education";

7. Persons who have been deprived of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, after their release; children of persons who have been deprived of their personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, as well as children of persons who have been deprived of their personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine, who have died/died (before such children finish their studies at the relevant educational institution, but no longer than before they reach 23 years of age), according to Article 13 of the Law of Ukraine "On Social and Legal Protection of Persons Deprived of Personal Freedom as a Result of Armed Aggression Against Ukraine, and Their Family Members" (from 01.01.2024)

8. Children, one of whose parents died during mass civil protest actions or died as a result of injury, contusion or mutilation received during mass civil protest actions (before the end of educational institutions, but not longer than before they reach 23 years old), in accordance with Article 44 of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education;

9. Children registered as internally displaced persons (before the end of their studies at an educational institution, but no longer than before they reach the age of 23), in accordance with Article 44 of the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education";

10. Persons who are assigned social scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for students of higher educational institutions from among orphans and children from low-income families in accordance with the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated 10/24/2002 No. 218-IV;

11. Children with disabilities and persons with disabilities of I-III groups;

12. Students from families receiving assistance in accordance with Law of Ukraine "On state social assistance to low-income families";

13. Persons with disabilities due to war in accordance with Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection" and their children (before the children finish their studies at an educational institution, but no longer than before they reach the age of 23) in accordance with Article 44 Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education";

14. Children of deceased, deceased (missing) participants in the Revolution of Dignity, participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of the war or Defenders of Ukraine (before the children finish their studies at an educational institution, but no longer than until they reach the age of 23) according to Law of Ukraine "On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection" and Article 44 Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education";

15. Children who live in settlements on the contact line (before the children finish their studies at an educational institution, but no longer than before they reach the age of 23) in accordance with Article 44 Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education". Such persons acquire the right to a social scholarship if, on the day of application for its appointment, the settlement in which they lived at the time of enrollment in the educational institution is included in the list of settlements located on the demarcation line.
