The Psychological Support Center at the Department of Psychology of the State Institute of Medical Sciences continues to work actively in the new year 2024. For the third month in a row, interactive meetings are held every Wednesday aimed at preserving mental health, updating personal resources and improving the emotional state of participants in the educational process.
It is worth noting that the leaders of such psychological support groups are not only teachers of the psychology department or invited experts on practical issues of psychological assistance. The interactive virtual platform "Warm Wednesdays" becomes a "forge of personnel", where our students take their first practical professional steps.
On March 20, 2024, the leader of the psychological support group was Kateryna Zhurbylyuk, a graduate of the master's level of higher education (group 505, educational program "Practical Psychology").
The discussion of the topic "Happiness as a resource" was incredibly warm, productive, inspiring. Especially valuable for the participants of "Warm Wednesday" was the practical practice of psychological techniques that help to feel the joy of life and increase one's emotional tone ("20 Peas" techniques, "Gratitude Diary"). Being able to find a reason for joy is a personal responsibility and a skill that opens access to a stable inner resource and makes us able to overcome life's troubles.
The Center for Psychological Support of the GIIIM is not only a place where students or teachers can get psychological help. The center becomes a valuable professional space for budding psychologists, providing an opportunity for students of psychological specialties to develop and improve their own practical skills during their studies.
