On May 15, 2024, the Department of English Philology and Translation held the final meeting of the problem group "Actual Problems of Cognitive Linguistics" (scientific leader - Ph.D., Associate Professor O.V. Krut). During the meeting, the students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the main directions of cognitive linguistics, the results and methods of concept research. In a warm friendly atmosphere, students and master's students presented their works and shared the achievements of their achievements. Students Kateryna Demko and Kateryna Klimentovska (341) (Philology. Translation (English and German/French)), Yana Kulikova (406a) (Secondary education (Ukrainian language and literature. English language and foreign literature)), Danylo Zhyznevskyi (304a) (OPP "Secondary Education (English Language and Foreign Literature). Psychology)") talked about the structure of concepts in English and compared it with the corresponding one in Ukrainian, based on the definitions of explanatory dictionaries, the etymology of the base word, the synonymy series and use in context.
Master's student Tetyana Petrychenko (504a) (OPP "Secondary education (English language and foreign literature). Psychology)") demonstrated a different approach to the analysis of the concept of MENTAL HEALTH, integrating achievements in linguistics and psychology, and outlined the prospects for further work, consisting of conducting a psycholinguistic experiment.
