On May 6, 2022 and May 13, 2022, a two-day international online conference "Online-Konferenz der deutschen und ukrainischen Germanistik" was held, organized by the Institute of German Language of the Scientific Society. Leibniz (Mannheim, Germany) and the Association of Ukrainian Germanists. Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assoc. Morozova LI and Art. off Sharko AA, longtime members of the Association of Ukrainian Germanists.
The participants of the conference discussed a wide range of issues related to the state of cooperation between Ukrainian and German universities, including the partnership of Erlangen-Nuremberg-Lviv, Bayreuth-Lviv-Ternopil-Donetsk (Vinnytsia), Augsburg-Chernivtsi-Pilsen, Lviv-Freiburg. It was noted that contacts between these universities were established in the 90s of the twentieth century. and are successfully developing so far, primarily in the field of academic student exchange and teacher training.
Particular attention was paid to the work of the Paul Celan Literary Center in Chernivtsi, the history of which was described in detail by Prof. P. Rihlo.
At the end of the conference, representatives of the Goethe-Institut K. Buk and T. Pavlov and Dr. H. Weierts-Shved from the German Research Society (DFG) informed the participants about the current opportunities to receive scholarships for study and research internships in Germany.
The highlight of this conference was personal communication in the so-called. Breakout-Räumen, which discussed specific areas of further cooperation between Ukrainian and German universities, in particular the creation of a new large German-Ukrainian dictionary.
