On October 11, 2023, an event initiated by the Department of Psychology was held as part of the Week of Psychology at GIIIM for students of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education and teachers who are representatives of the groups providing educational programs for psychological specialties of the Faculty of Social and Language Communication.

Guest lecture on the topic "Features of a psychologist's work with cancer patients and their relatives" was conducted by Halyna Dmytrivna Pastoshchuk, a member of the Ukrainian Psycho-Oncological Association, a practical psychologist of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for Khmelnytskyi Region". The lecture evoked a lot of feelings, thoughts and considerations in the audience about the value of life and the unpredictability of human fate, about caution, prudence and responsibility in the work of a practical psychologist in supporting people who are struggling with the disease.

The lecturer professionally, consistently, at the same time gently and deeply revealed the important aspects of the difficult work of providing psychological assistance to people with cancer and their family members.
