Transcultural project coming to the end of this semester. On November 27, 2024, project participants had the pleasure of viewing and discussing a presentation by students from Turkey (Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University). The leading topic of the speech was the influence of migration waves on the development of the lexical composition of the language. Turkey has historically been a key migration route due to its strategic location. Over the centuries, groups of Arabs, Jews, Chechens, Azerbaijanis, Ottomans, and Armenians migrated along this route, bringing cultural diversity to the Ottoman era and shaping the demographic and cultural landscape of the region. Migrants brought with them local food, clothes, language and combined all this with the culture of the region in which they settled. As a result, the modern Turkish language reflects a mixture of cultural exchanges, emphasizing Turkey's role as a bridge between civilizations. Thank you to all the participants.
