ANNIVERSARY EVENT AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF UKRAINE LITERATURE

ANNIVERSARY EVENT AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF UKRAINE LITERATURE

The Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages has once again proven that it does not stand aside from the cultural and public life of our country. This was confirmed by the holding of a solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Donetsk regional organization of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine (NWU), which took place on December 20 at the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine. The event was organized under the auspices of the NWU by the Literary and Artistic Club LITERA, the Department of National and World History, and the Educational and Methodological Department of the Institute.

The event was held on a day when air raids had been going on in Kyiv since the very morning and there were doubts that the event would have to be stopped and people would have to take shelter... But everything went smoothly and the full hall of guests testified that, despite everything, cultural and artistic events should be held not only online, that people need live communication.

Three hours of creative conversation (history, poems, memories, live music, clips, slides, archival photos), congratulations and gifts, thanks, awards and greetings from the head of the NSPU, Mykhailo Sydorzhevsky, great-grandson of Volodymyr Sosyura - Oleksiy, grandson of Maksym Rylsky - also Maksym (only, as he himself says, not Tadeyovych)... And new plans, ideas for holding literary events and preserving the Donetsk regional organization of the NSPU, despite everything, were heard in the speeches of the guests.

The organizers conveyed the important idea that the event was organized by the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages, which is already 75 years old this year, that our graduates are among the laureates of prestigious awards, and that it was our students and teachers who organized and held this anniversary event, because it is important to us that the literary Word of the East of Ukraine be heard.
