The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the implementation of a pilot project of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, according to which the Ministry of Veterans Affairs will pay the full cost of education for the corresponding academic year to children of war veterans who study on a contract basis in institutions of professional pre-higher or higher education.
You will receive a notification about the possibility of receiving state aid via the Diya mobile application. You will only need to confirm it.
«The resolution adopted by the Government is the first step in the implementation of a pilot project aimed at supporting the education of children of veterans, as well as children of fallen soldiers. The Ministry of Veterans will provide funds to fully cover the cost of annual tuition for paid places in institutions of all forms of ownership, regardless of the level of education they previously received. Notification of the provision of state aid will be received through the Diya application, it will only need to be confirmed», – noted the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova.
The following will be able to receive state aid for tuition fees:
- children who have the status of a family member of a deceased Defender of Ukraine
- children of people with disabilities as a result of war
- children of combatants defined in paragraphs 19-25 of part one of Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”
- children of persons who have the status of missing under special circumstances
- children of persons who have been found to be deprived of their personal freedom as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine
- children of persons recognized as victims of the Revolution of Dignity
Children who study on a contract basis, information about the basis for obtaining which is entered in the EDEBO (Unified state electronic database on education), will automatically receive a notification via the Diya application. The funds will be credited to the special account of the educational institution. The educational institution will refund the amounts that have already been paid. Please note: information that students have a special status may be provided to the educational institution for assistance.

The experimental project is being implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs together with the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science.
