On September 30, 2025, philologists-translators of the Department of English Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Social and Linguistic Communication of the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages of the State Higher Educational Institution of the State University of Pedagogical Sciences of the Ukrainian State University of Applied Sciences held an English-language educational event for the International Translator's Day - Student Forum. Translation Today: Knowledge and Skills. The topics of philological concepts and interactive tests are translation as a communicative and linguistic phenomenon, features of the reproduction of advertising slogans, translation of movie titles, the Welsh version of English, comparison of British and American English, pseudo-internationalisms (false friends of the translator), gender specificity of phraseological units, abbreviations and acronyms, medical translation, digital tools in the work of a translator and exercises for the development of translation skills. The event was organized by Yulia Bolbit (gr. 542), Valeria Vasylchenko (gr. 441), Karina Karabut (gr. 341), Vira Peftits (gr. 341), Albina Krasnyak (gr. 341), Valeria Husak (gr. 441), Alena Svyastina (gr. 341), Elizaveta Novokhatnia (gr. 441), Kateryna Petryshcheva (gr. 341), Iryna Pitetska (gr. 341), Alesya Dukhovska (gr. 341) and Assoc. Prof. O. A. Yasynetska – representatives of the educational and professional programs “Philology. Translation” and “Translation and Intercultural Communication” of the bachelor’s and master’s levels of higher education.
