Today, the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine hosted a literary and artistic celebration "Heroes' Hearts Burn Brightly" on the occasion of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
The Day of Defenders of Ukraine is a symbol of the courage and heroism of Ukrainians in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of our state, a day of honoring military traditions and victories, strengthening the patriotic spirit. On October 1, we also celebrate the holiday of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks. The Cossacks sincerely believed in the power of the Protection of the Mother of God, so the people's memory has preserved another name for the holiday - the Cossack Protection. This holiday unites us, reminding us of the continuity of spiritual values and calls us to be worthy heirs of the traditions of our ancestors at a time when Ukraine is defending its future.
Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Lecturer at the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the Donbass State Pedagogical University, Halyna Dokashenko, spoke about Cossack military and patriotic traditions, about the figures of hetmans and legendary Cossacks.
A special emotional highlight of the event were the poetic works, which were performed in an inspired performance by Honored Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Department of Performing Arts of the KNUTD Lyudmila Ardelyan and Natalia Kovalskaya, a teacher at the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the Donbass State Pedagogical University.
The vocal ensemble "Angelorus" (led by Tetiana Stefanyshyn) and the children's folk song collective of Kyiv Children's Music School No. 23 provided a festive mood with their performances.
Students of the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum actively participated in this artistic event.
We thank everyone who defends the independence of Ukraine today, and with a heavy heart we remember those who gave their lives for their Motherland.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
