On Saturday, October 4, at the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine, as part of the work of the Weekend Club, a presentation of the book "Nine Lives" took place. The author is Nataliya Kovalska, head of the literary and artistic club LITERA of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages, a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Poets - before this publication she had seven collections of poetry. The first book of prose "Nine Lives" was published by the Kyiv publishing house "Drukarskyi dvir Oleha Fedorov".
What is the book about? About us. About humanity and indifference, about betrayal and kindness, about losses and our incredible ability to be reborn. And, of course, about cats. They are there, they do not betray, they believe in us and inspire us to do desperate things to save at least one life, even at the cost of our own.
The presentation took place in a very warm circle of creative people. The community is replenished every time with people from Bakhmut, Kyiv, Horlivka, Brovary... The air raid warning did not prevent creative communication: prose was read on the street, and photographs were taken. And after the warning was over, everyone returned to the hall. Poems and prose were recited. Warm words were heard from Halyna Dokashenko, professor of the Department of National and Foreign History of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages; Pavlo Kushch, journalist, member of the NSPU and NSZHU; Valentyna Kovalivska, poetess, member of the Brovary literary and artistic association "Krynytsia". Valeria Kovalska spoke about the work on the design and layout of the book.
At the end of the event, in a friendly circle around the piano, members of the Weekend Club, people united by Kyiv and the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine, sang the song "How Not to Love You, My Kyiv." Accompanied by Natalia Yesaulova, the musical heart of the Club.
