On October 15, 2025 at 6:00 PM, a meeting was held at the GIIM Psychological Resilience Center as part of the “Warm Wednesday” project on the topic “Psychological analysis of the film “It Doesn’t Get Better” (1997)”. The host was Sergey Fedorov, a practical psychologist. The event was organized by the GIIM Psychological Resilience Center with the support of the Erasmus+ KA2 BURN project, funded by the European Union.
During the meeting, participants discussed the psychological aspects of the film, including themes of obsessive-compulsive disorder (Melvin Youdall), caregiver burnout (Carol Connelly), and post-traumatic healing (Simon Bishop). The focus was on the transformative power of human connections, developing empathy, overcoming fears, and recovering from trauma.
The atmosphere of the meeting was warm and reflective: the participants shared their own impressions, drew parallels with real-life situations, and noted that such film-psychological analyses contribute to self-understanding and emotional stability.
