October 29, 2025 for consideration by project participants POWER CUBE the results of the joint work of the second international team on the topic were presented The Power of Language. The team brought together 15 students from eight universities around the world. The mentors of this team were representatives of the GIIM: Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Sukhovetska L. V. and Ph.D. O. S. Shlapakov.
The team focused on the fact that language is a factor in the formation of national identity, worldview and thinking; briefly reviewed theories of the origin of language and the functions of language, discussed the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, and compared how “futured” and “futureless” languages have different impacts on the practical actions of a language community. Using the example of an interethnic conflict in Rwanda, it was shown how a word spoken in the media can kill no worse than a machine gun. The topic of the presentation was announced by the creative video trailer, created by the efforts of students. Amidst the audience's enthusiastic responses, the words were heard fabulous, fantastic, amazingThe most active role in preparing the presentation was played by a graduate student from our university, Victoria Silkina (504 gr).
