November 5, 2025 within the project POWER CUBE the results of the joint work of the third international team on the topic were presented Power of Language: English as Postcolonial Issue. The team considered the reasons that contributed to the formation of the status of English as an international language, as a lingua franca. It clearly demonstrated the geographical spread of English in the world; the ratio of native speakers of English and speakers of English as a second foreign language. Vivid examples confirmed the fact that English is the language of diplomacy, business, education, pop culture and online communication. A variant of the future development of society in conditions of dominance of English was briefly outlined, the participants drew attention to the growing need to protect national languages at the local level, which should contribute to the preservation of language diversity in the world. A graduate of our university participated in the preparation of the presentation of the third team Doronchenko G. (gr.211a). In the discussion, the applicants supported Miller S.
