It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the Defender of Ukraine, our history student Leonid Mendryk. From the first days of the full-scale war, he stood up for the defense of his native state, honestly and faithfully fulfilling his military duty.

Leonid was born in Chasiv Yar on October 11, 1982. He graduated from local school No. 15 and vocational school No. 77. According to his brothers, he was an incredible person, one of the best soldiers they had met during the war.

Leonid is survived by his mother, wife, and two minor sons. His brother continues to defend our Motherland.
