On January 30, 2026, the second open meeting of the Student Scientific Circle “Ukrainian State-Building Process in the Modern Age” took place this academic year.
The speaker of the meeting was again Kyrylo Ivlev, a historian and researcher at the Franko House in Lviv. He conducted an online tour on the topic “People of Ideas and Action: Around the Places of Memory of Ukrainian Nationalists in Lviv.”
The meeting was attended by visitors to the club, other students, teachers and employees of the institute. During the online excursion, those present learned more about the places associated with the life and activities of the figures of the Ukrainian Military Organization (UVO) and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). Dwelling in more detail on the figures of Yulian Golovinsky, Mykola Lemek, and Marta Chorna, the speaker showed what the leaders of the Ukrainian national liberation movement fought for, what methods of struggle and resistance they used, who these people were in everyday life, what prompted them to risk their own lives for the sake of their goal.
The meeting ended with a warm family conversation “behind the scenes”, because the teachers of the Department of Domestic and Foreign History have known Kyrylo for a long time and have been supporting his scientific activities since his school and student years. Warm words were said about the speaker and the activities of the historical circle by the head of the Department of Domestic and Foreign History Halyna Dokashenko, the head of the scientific department of the institute Lyudmila Tkachenko, and Kyrylo Ivlev’s teachers – the director of the Chasovoyarsk Historical and Local Lore Museum Valery Bohunenko and the head of the Chasiv Yar School of Arts Victoria Nesterova.
Open meetings of the club members with the participation of historian Kyrylo Ivlev will continue. The young scientist suggested no less interesting topics for online excursions for new meetings in the future.
