Topic: "Why are we so used to making our lives difficult: a view from Gestalt therapy"
🤝 On December 10, 2025 at 6:00 PM, Warm Wednesday took place, dedicated to exploring the habit of complicating one's own life and its psychological causes.
👩 The meeting was held by:
Oleksandra Shtade is a master's student of higher education "Deep Psychocorrection" at the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National University of Chernivtsi.
😍 The format of the meeting was reflective and practical.
Participants:
👌 investigated why we often choose the more difficult path even when a simpler solution is possible;
👌 we got acquainted with Gestalt mechanisms that support this habit (introjects, projection, retroflexion, confluence);
👌 analyzed the impact of the collective memory of Ukrainians, where tension and "heroism" have become a habitual way of survival;
👌 Through reflective questions, we noticed where in our own lives we choose complexity;
👌 We performed the practical exercise "I and the Path", working with limiting beliefs and forming permissions for simplicity, pause, and our own pace.
🌱 The meeting became a space of awareness, where participants had the opportunity to see: simplicity is not weakness, but a new way of contacting oneself and the world, and that living does not mean constantly surviving.
