"Personality Polarities: From Opposition to Wholeness"
🤝 On March 25, 2026, a meeting was held within the framework of the "Warm Wednesdays" project.
✨ The meeting was dedicated to the study of the internal polarities of the personality and working with internal conflicts through the art therapy technique "Working with Polarities" (A. I. Kopytin, modification by E. Tararina).
The goal of the work was to become aware of the opposing parts of oneself, accept them, and integrate them to restore internal balance.
🌗 During the meeting, the participants:
👌 we got acquainted with the concept of polarities (control - spontaneity, strength - vulnerability, rational - emotional, etc.);
👌 we performed a practical exercise: we photographed 5 "large" and 5 "small" objects as a metaphor for internal states;
👌 we investigated which images people associate themselves with more - "I am big" or "I am small";
👌 analyzed their own emotions, reactions, and life strategies through the prism of these states;
👌 answered reflective questions that helped to better understand one's resources, limitations, and internal contradictions;
👌 worked with awareness of which areas of life should be "scaled up" and where - allow yourself more softness and reduced control.
🌱 During the work, participants had the opportunity to safely express different aspects of their personality, touch on deep feelings, and gain a new experience of self-disclosure.
✨ The result was an increase in self-awareness, a better understanding of their internal conflicts, and the first steps towards their integration. Participants noted that the technique helped them see their own resources, allow themselves to be different, and find a balance between opposing states.
