On the eve of the professional holiday, higher education students, teachers of the institute, and everyone interested in history visited a guest lecture by Natalia Vitaliyivna Ignatenko, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Volodymyr Hnatyuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University. The lecture from the course “History Teaching Methods” was devoted to the problem of modern lesson design. The event was joined by teachers from the Donetsk region, higher education students, and teachers from the Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, the National University of Water Management and Environmental Management (Rivne), a total of more than 80 students.
N. V. Ignatenko focused on the concepts of problem-based learning, explaining the traditional approach and innovative challenges to lesson planning; defined the role of the educational environment, and clearly demonstrated the changes in the roles of the teacher and student in a modern school. The participants of the event were interested and aware of the practical cases proposed by the lecturer.
In conclusion, there were many positive comments about the lecturer and the idea of organizing such meetings. The exchange of thoughts and impressions turned out to be fruitful and valuable for both students and practicing teachers.
