April 23, 2026 Teachers of the Department of Ukrainian Philology, methodologists of the Resource Center for Professional Development of Teachers of Ukrainian Language and Literature, and students of the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages had the opportunity to join the guest lecture "Wybrane wyzwania contemporanego swiat o pomocy i pomaganiu", conducted by Professor Kinga Kuszak from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland) at the Donbas State Pedagogical University. The lecture was in Polish with simultaneous translation, which made it accessible to a wide audience.
The issues raised turned out to be extremely relevant both in the scientific and educational dimensions. Psychological understanding of the phenomenon of helping, in particular the emphasis on the mechanisms of empathy, identification and perception of the "other", opens up prospects for interdisciplinary dialogue and further research.
The practical aspect of the lecture is also of particular value: understanding volunteer activity as a factor in the formation of a socially responsible personality, the development of communication skills and intercultural competence of applicants.
Such events are an important step towards the integration of the Ukrainian educational space into the European academic context, contribute to the professional growth of teachers and students, and deepen the understanding of the values of modern humanitarian education.
We are sincerely grateful to the organizers and the lecturer for a meaningful and professional conversation.
