International cluster event "Forming a sustainable mindset for a digital future" (“Building Resilient Minds for a Digital Future”), which took place on 13 May 2026, brought together partners from different Erasmus+ projects to discuss the role of digitalization and psychological resilience in the transformation of higher education. Participants stressed the importance of synergies between Erasmus+ projects and the strategic importance of developing resilient educational institutions in times of war and global crises.
Svitlana Shitikova (National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine) emphasized the EU's support and the importance of projects in preparing Ukraine for its new status in the Erasmus+ program.
Marina Mruga (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Head of the Expert Group on Integration into the European Higher Education Area and Quality Assurance) emphasized the importance of integrating Ukrainian education into the European space and developing a quality system.
Tuya Marstio (Laurea University, Finland) presented the project Ukraine DigiTrans, which modernizes teachers' digital pedagogical skills and forms a future-oriented "future-ready mindset" of students.
Iryna Zadorozhna (Ternopil National Pedagogical University) presented the project BURN, aimed at developing psychological resilience in universities, creating well-being centers, and implementing trauma-informed educational programs.
Ekaterina Klidiashvili (Tbilisi Medical Academy, Georgia), which represented the project DIGI-CHANGE, emphasized that despite the development of algorithms, human thinking and ethics remain key factors.
Guest speaker's speech, Iraklis Paraskakis from CITY College, Greece was dedicated to digitalization in medical education, in particular the importance of data for developing sustainability and digital transformation.
Representatives of Erasmus+ projects discussed how universities can adapt educational trajectories to changing conditions while maintaining the quality of education and student support.
The event was attended by Erasmus+ team managers from Ukrainian universities from Kherson, Melitopol, Kryvyi Rih, Ternopil, and Sloviansk, who cooperate in the Erasmus+ project. BURN. The Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the State Higher Educational Institution "DSPU" was represented by the project team managers - Assoc. Prof. Tatiana Borozentseva, Assoc. Prof. Marina Shkuropat, as well as higher education students, active participants in project activities.
The event confirmed that digitalization, data use, and psychological resilience are complementary factors in the development of education. Ukrainian and European partners are jointly shaping innovative approaches that help universities remain spaces of knowledge, safety, and community recovery.
