🌿 "My other "I": getting to know the hidden parts of myself through MAC" with Kateryna Zhurbilyuk - a practical psychologist at the Center for Psychological Resilience 🧠
During the meeting, participants explored their own hidden sides of their personality through work with metaphorical associative maps. They talked about Carl Gustav Jung's concept of the "shadow," which describes those traits, feelings, and needs that a person often does not accept or tries to hide from themselves and others.
Participants had the opportunity to look at their unaccepted parts without judgment, understand what needs lie behind them, and discover new internal resources.
During the meeting:
✨ we got acquainted with the concept of the "shadow" side of the personality and the mechanism of psychological projection
✨ explored how unacceptable traits can manifest themselves in interactions with other people and life situations
✨ worked with metaphorical associative maps in the exercise "My other selves" and explored hidden aspects of their own personality
✨ identified the needs that may be behind such manifestations as control, resentment, aggression, envy, or the desire to avoid activity
✨ shared discoveries, personal insights and reflections on their own internal resources
✨ formed a more accepting and holistic attitude towards themselves
During the discussion, participants noted that even those traits that are usually perceived negatively can contain important signals about our needs, boundaries, desires, and potential for development.
The meeting took place in a warm, trusting atmosphere, where everyone had the opportunity to safely explore themselves, receive support, and look at their own personality from a new perspective 💬
