Today, October 8, as part of Psychology Week, we continued our marathon "The ABC of Mental Health: From Z to A - Towards Yourself".
They talked about resistanceBut we looked at it from a slightly different angle.
What if support is not just what holds us up?
And do we know how to be a support for ourselves — or do we sometimes turn into another internal controller?
Participants passed "resistance test" and explored their own sources of support:
🔹 who are the people I can turn to;
🔹 what can I do for myself;
🔹 what I already have and what helped me before;
🔹 what gives meaning and helps you move on.
Separately, they talked about What might we really be missing?when it seems like we "have to handle it ourselves": rest, physical attention, time, information, support, people around, or even just permission to do nothing.
And another important thought of the meeting:
Independence doesn't mean sitting in a chair without any help.
Support is not about enduring everything on your own.
It's about the ability to notice your needs, know what and who you can rely on, and allow yourself to accept support.
💛 Another morning of our marathon — another opportunity to feel a little better.
