Every year on October 27, we celebrate the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language in honor of the chronicler Nestor, a follower of the creators of Slavic writing, Cyril and Methodius. Researchers believe that it was with the venerable Nestor the chronicler that the written Ukrainian language began.
Our language has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, it always resists hostile propaganda and protects national values, because "the most valuable and richest wealth of every people is its language, that living repository of the human spirit."
Today, during the Russian-Ukrainian war, language is our border, it is our weapon. So, let us protect our native language and national identity, because truly “a people without a language is not a people!” (V. Saussure)
