Today, February 15, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Honoring Participants in Combat Operations in Other States, as well as the 33rd anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. A requiem rally is held annually in memory of the fallen soldiers in Bakhmut, near the monument to internationalist soldiers. The Afghan war lasted for almost 10 years, killing more than 3,000 Ukrainian boys. Every tenth of them is from Donbass. In this terrible war, 22 heroes died - residents of Bakhmut and 6 - Bakhmut district.
The rally was attended by leaders of the Bakhmut community, the leadership of the Bakhmut Police Department, students of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages, participants in the fighting in Afghanistan, residents of our city.
A moment of silence was observed in honor of the fallen internationalist soldiers and flowers were laid at the monument.
