World AIDS Day is celebrated annually on December 1. The date is designed to draw attention to the threat AIDS poses to society and to support those living with HIV/AIDS. The day also aims to raise awareness about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

On December 1, 2023, students of the Horliv Institute of Foreign Languages of the DVNZ "DDPU" took part in the online training "HIV/AIDS once again and frankly", which was organized by the Department of Youth Policy and Children's Affairs of Bakhmut City Council together with the Department of Health Protection of Bakhmut of the city council and the Department for the organization of educational work of students of the Horliv Institute of Foreign Languages of the State Educational Institution "DDPU" as part of the All-Ukrainian campaign "16 days against violence".

Yuliya Makogon, a psychologist at the medical and diagnostic center of the Bakhmut Medical Center BLIL, gave young people a general idea of what HIV infection/AIDS is. She talked about the danger of the disease and the personal responsibility of each person for their health.
