Currently, the third wave of the survey is underway, which aims to determine the needs of Ukrainian scientists during the military conflict.
The first two waves of the survey have already reached more than 3,500 scientists and provided important information about the basic needs and the real situation during the first months of the full-scale invasion and in the fall of 2022 during the critical bombing of Ukraine. These results became the basis for requests to create assistance programs for Ukrainian scientists from such organizations as the Simons Foundation, DAAD, and the US Embassy in Ukraine. They also received feedback at thematic conferences, in particular, "European response to the crisis facing Ukrainian students, scholars, and scientists" and were reflected in mass media, in particular, "Kunsht", "Mirror of the Week" and "Science|Business". as well as in scientific research.
The survey is part of the UAScience.Reload initiative and the Science at Risk project (https://scienceatrisk.org/), the initiators of which seek to help Ukrainian scientists and work on organizing comprehensive support for Ukrainian science, involving stakeholders, including international partners. The project involves the development of recommendations for state bodies, scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, other organizations in Ukraine and abroad, and international institutions to support Ukrainian science.
