Traditional, this year the XVII Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Postgraduate Students "RESEARCH OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS IN THE FIELD OF THE HUMANITIES" took place on May 16, on the eve of the Day of Science in Ukraine, as part of the XIII All-Ukrainian Festival of Science. The scientific forum is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages and was held with the support of the Council of Young Scientists (Chairman of the Council - Candidate of Philology, Assoc. Prof. VO Andrushchenko) and the Council of the Student Scientific Society. Ph.D., Prof. AR Gabidullin).

The plenary session began with a welcoming speech by the director of the Institute of Philology. Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Eugenia Nikolaevna Belitskaya. She sincerely congratulated the participants of the conference, among whom were many who participated in the scientific forum for the first time.

Deputy Director for Scientific and Pedagogical and Educational and Methodological Work, Ph.D. Tetyana Mykhailivna Marchenko summed up the research work of young scientists in the 2018-2019 academic year, noted the scientific achievements of young scientists and students. In a warm atmosphere, diplomas were awarded to winners and participants of scientific competitions of various levels. Among them are prize-winners and participants of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works and the All-Ukrainian student's Olympiad, the International language and literature competition of pupils and students named after Taras Shevchenko - Diakovskaya Lyudmila, Zeynalova Alina, Pisarev Alexander, Petruk Alina, Vonabova Bona Orlova Kateryna, Panova Oleksandra, Bezmen Nikita, Vlasov Nazar, Petrosyan Arkady.  

Then the plenary session continued with informative reports, accompanied by interesting presentations of scientific achievements and lively interest of the audience.

Lyudmyla Diakovska presented the results of her work "Humor in animated films as a problem of translation". Alexander Pisarev spoke about the interpretation of evangelical images in the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar". Kateryna Stepanenko presented the results of her research "The ability of the individual to self-control in the emotional sphere, in activity and behavior". The participants of the conference were immersed in the world of literature by Anna Vlasova with a speech "Walking Castle: the worlds of Diana Wynn Jones and Hayao Miyazaki."

The competence of the questions asked from the audience testified to the high professional level of the student audience and its focus on professional science.

      After the plenary session, the work continued in sections. The issues raised by the participants of the scientific meeting were reflected in 22 sections. Among the participants - students of Bakhmut NEC № 11, teachers of Bakhmut secondary school I-III degrees № 24, students of the Dnieper National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, Kharkiv National University. V.N. Karazina. Issues of modern translation studies, German and Romance linguistics, linguistic features of English discourse, problems of research of East Slavic languages and speech, current issues of literary studies, national and world history, historical local lore, the latest principles of teaching psychology are considered.

We truly thank the organizing committee of the conference, the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists Assoc. V.O. Andrushchenko, curator of the student scientific society prof. A.R. Gabidullini, Chairman of the Board of the Student Scientific Society Lyudmila Diakovskaya for organizing and preparing a scientific event, and we wish its participants new and effective ways to solve such complex and at the same time interesting issues of modern science!
