Discussion of the experience of Estonian colleagues following a visit to the University of Tartu

At an extended meeting of the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social and Language Communication on March 18, 2025, a discussion took place on the results of a study visit of psychologists from the Institute of International Relations to the University of Tartu (Estonia). The purpose of the visit was to study the experience of the psychological service of a higher educational institution.

In addition to the organizational issues of the activities of psychological assistance centers in Tartu and Tallinn, the speakers, participants of the visit - Kateryna Zhurbilyuk, Snizhana Stepanova and Tetyana Borozentseva, focused on the theoretical and practical materials received: on working with trauma from Kaia Kastepõld-Tõrs, a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist (CBT, schema therapy) of the Consulting Center of the University of Tartu, Institute of Psychology; on the technologies of conducting intervention groups (based on the ideas of Inga Ignatieva, Tõnu Jürjen, Sharipha Rzayeva, Anu Leuska, TU consulting psychologists); on art therapy methods for harmonizing the internal state from Anne Tullus.

In accordance with the decision of the department (minutes No. 8 dated 03/18/2025), the received scientific and methodological materials will be used to update the content of lectures and practical classes in the work programs of a number of educational components for applicants at the bachelor's and master's levels: "Technologies of psychological counseling", "Practical course on psychological assistance", "Technologies of professional self-improvement of a modern psychologist". In addition, it was decided to hold an intervision session for practicing psychologists - graduates of GIIM using methodological materials from Estonian colleagues as part of the planned Psychology Week at GIIM in April 2025.
