October 30, 2025 applicants and teachers Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages became participants in an educational webinar "Methods of applying modern automated translation technologies", organized Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University within the framework of an educational project Erasmus+ DigiFLEd.
The event brought together those who are interested in the latest approaches to translation and strive to confidently step into a profession where technology becomes a reliable assistant to a philologist.
Olesya Boivan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice, presented the university team that worked on creating the training course Translation TechnologiesThe speaker talked about the possibilities Trados Studio – one of the most powerful platforms for automating translation processes, which helps translators manage large volumes of texts, maintain style and terminological consistency.
Oksana Vorobyova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice, spoke about the development of translation technologies - from the first assistant programs to modern ones CAT tools, combining artificial intelligence and human expertise. She demonstrated how automated systems are changing the approach to translation and opening up new opportunities for learning and professional development.
Webinar participants had the opportunity to see how modern technologies work in practice. Student Valeria Kambarova shared her experience of teamwork with CAT systems, and Vladyslav Bogutska tested machine translation in real time, commenting on the results using participants' example sentences.
All those present noted that such events not only expand knowledge about translation technologies, but also motivate young people for professional growth.
