Child aggression or the "dragon within"

Child aggression or the "dragon within"

Child-parent relationships are very vulnerable during the period of uncertainty of wartime, when adults are emotionally exhausted and tired due to the pressure of unresolved problems. Children's unformed psyche is subjected to traumatic effects and often responds with manifestations of aggression. Preschool and primary school children react with tantrums, protests, sometimes - self-isolation and ignoring adults, sometimes - auto-aggression (self-harm).

On November 26, 2025, at the next meeting within the framework of the "Warm Wednesday" project at the GIIM, topical issues were considered and discussed: what are the causes of children's aggression, what should be the constructive reaction of parents, what methods exist for safely relieving emotional tension, etc.

It is nice that the webinar was prepared and conducted by Natalia Zolotnytska, a graduate of the GIIM in 2023, who currently works with women and children in volunteer centers in Germany and is studying to become a Gestalt therapist.

We are very grateful to our graduates, who with their professional experience diversify the work of the Center for Psychological Resilience of the GIIM, which is developing thanks to the support of the Erasmus+ KA2 BURN project - "Strengthening Psychological Resilience and Well-being of the University Community in the (Post)War Ukrainian State" funded by the EU.
