GIIM is resolutely on the path of modernization. In the spring of 2020, the educational programs of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages were modernized, the next step of which was the introduction of an updated procedure for choosing disciplines by higher education students. According to the current legislation in the field of education, at least 25% credits of the ECTS credits of the educational program of training of higher education seekers must be elective disciplines.
That is why on February 17, 2021 at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages was held an interdepartmental educational and methodological seminar "Features of the organization of the selective component of educational programs GIIM." The moderators of the event were Cand. ped. Sciences, Associate Professor Kokorina Lyudmila Vladimirovna and Ph.D. philol. Sciences, Associate Professor Sukhovetskaya Lyudmila Valentinovna. The event was attended by teachers of the departments of German philology, French and Spanish languages, pedagogy and teaching methods, world literature. During the seminar the issues of types of elective disciplines, their percentage and thematic orientation were considered. During the discussion, teachers discussed problematic aspects of teaching elective courses in 2020-2021, and outlined the content of the elective component of educational programs of the first and second levels of higher education at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic languages.
