On October 22, the 5th All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Online Conference with International Participation took place "Regionalism in the Civilization Dimension: Directions and Prospects for Progress." It was a logical continuation of the previous four conferences entitled "Bakhmut Antiquity: Local History Studies». The change in the vector is due to the desire to implement the proposals of the participants of previous forums to expand the range of issues for discussion at the expense of other areas of humanities. As in previous years, the co-organizers were the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine, Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, and the Bakhmut Museum of Local Lore. At the plenary session and in seven sections of the conference its participants - scientists, teachers, local historians, students from Ukraine, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan - discussed the theoretical and source principles of regional studies, identified the state and prospects of museums and museums. directions of foreign regionalism, outlined the ways of cultural development of the regions, stated the spread of the practice of using history as a tool of hybrid threats.
