February 20 - Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred - a memorable day celebrated in Ukraine in honor of the heroism of the Revolution of Dignity and perpetuation of the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
"Heavenly Hundred" is the collective name adopted in Ukraine for the 104 protesters who were directly involved in the idea and action of the Euromaidan (Revolution of Dignity) in December 2013 - February 2014. On February 21, 2014, the official authorities of Ukraine legally recognized the victims of the dead Maidan protesters. On this day, a farewell ceremony was held on the Maidan for the fallen insurgents, who were called the "Heavenly Hundred" in mourning speeches. The feat of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred inspired hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to fight Russian aggression. And we bow our heads, paying deep respect to all those who laid down their lives for the freedom of their homeland. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes! They do not die, but forever remain our glory and heavenly defenders of Ukraine! Today we must not betray those who took a courageous step towards self-sacrifice and immortality! We are responsible to them, to ourselves and to our children for the fate and future of our country! Glory to Ukraine!
