On January 27, the world celebrates the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust since 2005, when the relevant resolution of the UN General Assembly was adopted. It stated that "The Holocaust, which resulted in the extermination of one-third of the Jews and countless other nationalities, will always serve as a warning to all people about the dangers that lurk within hatred, bigotry, racism and prejudice...". Ukraine joined this document in 2012 and, together with the whole world, began to commemorate this sad event.
Babyn Yar became a mass mass grave and a symbol of the Holocaust in Ukraine. From September 1941 to the end of September 1943, it was the site of regular executions and burials carried out by the military and police of the occupying Nazi authorities. About one and a half million Jews were destroyed by the Nazis on the territory of our country. This is a quarter of all victims of the Holocaust, which is a crime against all humanity.
