In 2017, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine designated March 14 as the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer in order to honor the courage of all those who, following the call of their hearts, stood up to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our state.
It was on this day in 2014 that the first fighters of the Maidan Self-Defense initially went to the training base to form a volunteer battalion, and later to the East. During the years of Russian aggression against Ukraine, thousands of civilians took up arms to defend the Motherland, unfortunately, some of them gave the most valuable thing in the battles - their lives. Infinite gratitude to the Ukrainian volunteers and eternal glory to the fallen heroes!
