On the eve of the All-Ukrainian Day of the Psychologist, which is celebrated on April 23, the department of psychology of the GIIIM held an extraordinary open meeting on April 21, 2023 with an invitation to the students of the 1st-5th courses studying in the specialty 053 Psychology.

At the festive meeting of the department, both teachers and students had the opportunity to feel the value of the unity of the professional circle, the depth of responsibility and the high significance of the psychologist's work in war and post-war times.

The informal atmosphere of communication allowed the students of higher education to look "behind the scenes" of the pedagogical activity of the department's teachers and get acquainted with the everyday work of a practical psychologist. Oksana Viktorovna Hrytsuk spoke about her experience working at the Hotline of the Helpline during wartime; Diana Serhiivna Drozdova noted the techniques of psychological counseling that she uses in psychocorrective work with young people on the problems of determining one's own life path, correcting self-esteem, overcoming crisis situations; Olena Gennadiivna Razumova shared new acquisitions in working with internal conflicts using metaphorical associative maps; Tetyana Valeryivna Borozentseva told about her observations that now our compatriots from abroad, with problems of interpersonal family relations, turn to her more often for psychological consultations.

Students asked a lot of questions, and teachers were happy to answer about how they choose directions for improving their own qualifications and constantly learn; what professional challenges and opportunities appear every day in practical psychological activity; who experience feelings when they see the results of their work.

Results of the meeting: mutual gratitude, mutual satisfaction and mutual desire to hold such meetings in the future.
