It was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated May 8, 2023 No. 266 "with the aim of strengthening the unity of the peoples of Europe, ensuring peace and stability on the European continent." And precisely on May 9, Europe Day is celebrated in the countries of the European Union as a symbol of unity and peace on the continent.
The thousand-year history of Ukraine is an integral part of the history of Europe. It is difficult to overestimate the degree of cultural, political, military and economic integration of the Ukrainian nation into the European community. After receiving the status of a candidate for joining the European Union in June 2022, Ukraine is confidently stepping towards the new format of this ancient civilizational association.

And at the same time, it is Ukraine, not for the first time in its history, that saves Europe from an external threat, from the onslaught of a barbarian horde.

Today, Ukrainians with weapons in their hands protect Europe and give a chance for peace and the creation of a new global security system. And it is obvious that a necessary condition for the continued existence of European civilization is the victory over Russia, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the impossibility of future aggression of Russian imperialism against anyone on the planet.
