The Department of English Philology and Translation is a graduate and trains specialists of the "bachelor" and "master" levels in the areas of 014 Secondary Education and 035 Philology. Teachers of the department qualitatively apply and constantly improve the forms and methods of highly qualified professional training of English teachers (for educational institutions of Ukraine) and translators with English as the main language (for institutions and enterprises of any industry and form of ownership) in accordance with democratic principles, humanization and humanization of professional activity.
The main method of teaching, which is guided by the team, is co-creation, cooperation of those who teach and those who learn; it is important to find the best ways to master the means of independent professionally competent activities.
Scientific and educational-methodical activity of the department is provided by systematic scientific (supervisor - Assoc. Prof. Yasynetska OA) and methodical seminars "Teaching foreign languages in the context of cognitive-communicative approach" (supervisor - Assoc. Prof. Shkuropat M. Yu.).
Since 2015, the Department of English Philology and Translation annually holds a competition for the best artistic translation of poetic works from English for students of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages and secondary school students for the International Student Day. In 2017, the traditional Week of English Language and Creative-Intellectual Event-Quest “Let's Have Fun Together with Shakespeare” was introduced in the spring to celebrate the anniversary of the birth and honor of the famous British playwright William Shakespeare.
An integral part of the department is the scientific activity of teachers and involvement in the scientific search of student youth, which is successfully implemented within the interdepartmental theme "Development and analysis of foreign language communication strategies within the cognitive-discursive approach taking into account intercultural features" and has a direct practical outcome. participation of students in conferences of various levels, in particular in the annual All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference of young scientists "Language communication and modern technologies in the format of multilevel systems", conducted by the department and based on which the electronic publication of the Bulletin of the Student Scientific Society of Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages.

Yasynetska Olena Anatoliivna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of English Philology and Translation.
In 1999 she graduated with honors from the Horlivka State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (now the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the Donbass State Pedagogical University) with a degree in English Language, Ukrainian Language and Literature.
From 2003 to 2005, he was a Fulbright Scholarship Fellow, Ohio University Tuition Scholarship, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International of Women Teachers (The A. Margaret Boyd Overseas Foundation Scholarship). Delta Kappa Gamma Fellowship). In 2005 she defended her diploma in philology on "Conceptual, Lingual and Translational Aspects of Headline Metaphors Used to Refer to the American and Ukrainian Presidential Campaigns of 2004" at the University of Ohio (Athens, Ohio, USA) and received a master's degree in humanities. .
In 2009 she defended her dissertation on "Translation of new English-language journalistic metaphors into Ukrainian" and received the degree of Candidate of Sciences in the specialty 10.02.16 - translation studies. In 2015 she received the academic title of associate professor of broadcasting practice and information technology.
Teaches the following disciplines: "Practice of oral and written speech", "History of translation", "Fundamentals of translation cursive", "Theory and practice of translation from the first foreign native language", "Translation of business oral and written speech (first foreign language)", " Translation of legal oral and written speech (first foreign language) "," Theory and practice of translation from the native language into the first foreign language "," Audiovisual translation "," Comparative stylistics "," Translation of scientific and technical oral and written speech (first foreign language) " , "Translation of socio-political oral and written speech (first foreign language)". He is a methodologist of various types of translation practice from the first foreign (English) language.
Research interests: theory and practice of translation, communicative linguistics, semantics, stylistics.
He has more than 40 scientific publications, is the author and co-author of 4 textbooks, 1 of which is a textbook stamped by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Since 2019 he has been the executor of the Erasmus + KA2 project - Development of higher education potential (MultiEd № 610427-EE-2019-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP: Development of foreign language teacher training capacity as a way to multilingual education and European integration in Ukraine).
In March 2020, she completed a 108-hour advanced training course at the Zaporizhzhya National University under the program "Innovative Approaches to Teaching Academic Writing" (3.6 ECTS credits): 54 hours - Fundamentals of Academic Writing; 54 hours - Writing scientific works.
From May 19 to June 26, 2020, a 26-hour training course for higher education research and teaching staff was developed within the Erasmus + MultiEd project (1 ECTS credit), Narva College, University of Tartu (Estonia).

Andrushchenko Victoria Olehivna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of English Philology and Translation.
In 2008 she graduated from the Horlivka State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (now - Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the State Higher Educational Institution "Donbas State Pedagogical University") in the specialty "Pedagogy and methods of secondary education. Language and Literature (English) ", diploma with honors. In 2013 she defended her dissertation in the specialty 10.02.15 - General Linguistics on the topic "Regularities of the manifestation of categorical connectivity in the horizontal and vertical internal artistic text structure".

Shkuropat Marina Yuriyivna, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of English Philology and Translation.
In 1988 she graduated with honors from the Horlivka State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (now the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages of the Donbass State Pedagogical University) with a degree in English and German.
In 2007 she defended her dissertation on the specialty 10.01.06 - Theory of Literature on "Iconic artistic image on the material of the works of IS Shmelev." In 2014 she received the academic title of associate professor of the Department of Literary Theory and History of Ukrainian Literature.
Teaches disciplines: "Practical course of English", "Practice of oral and written speech", "Communicative strategies (English)", "Media literacy (English)".
Research interests: literary analysis, intertextual and intermedia analysis, modern literature of English-speaking countries, subject-language integrated learning CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).
He is the author of more than 40 scientific publications, textbooks in the disciplines "Introduction to Literary Studies" and "Analysis of a work of art."

In 1999 she graduated from the Horlivka State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in English, Ukrainian Language and Literature, a diploma with honors.
In 2006 she defended her dissertation on "Trade unions of Ukraine in the system of ideologizing society (1956-1964)." In 2011 she received the academic title of associate professor of domestic and foreign history.
