November 16 students-translators of the Faculty of Social and Linguistic Communication of the Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages held a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and participants of the competition of poetic translation from English into Ukrainian (poems "The Brain" (author - 19th century American poet Emily Dickinson) and "Parts of Speech") and to greet the audience with a small cognitive-humorous concert based on their own experience of studying and working in the specialty "translation".
The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Linguistic Communication, Ph.D., addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. philol. Sciences, Associate Professor Valentina Gavrilovna Marakhovskaya, who noted the importance of the achievements and future successes of the participants.
The competition, held by the Department of English Philology and Translation since mid-October, was attended by students of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages and students of secondary schools of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, namely from the following towns and villages: Bakhmut, Bakhmutovka, Kramatorsk, Novoaydar, Severodonetsk.
Winners of the competition in two nominations:
1) the best poetic translation among students of secondary schools of Donetsk and Luhansk regions:
- And the place - NATALIA KROTCHENKO, student of 5 (9) -B class, Kramatorsk Ukrainian gymnasium;
- Second place - KIRA BUKREYEVA, a student of 10-B class of Bakhmut Secondary School of I-III degrees № 5 with specialized training;
- Second place - VISALA GULIEVA, a student of 10-B class of Bakhmut Secondary School of I-III grades № 5 with specialized training;
- Third place - YAROSLAVA KANISHCHEVA, 11th grade student of Bakhmut Secondary School of I-III grades of Novoaydar District Council of Luhansk Region;
- Third place - VALERIA KHOZINA, student of 7 (11) -A class, Kramatorsk Ukrainian gymnasium.
2) the best poetic translation among students of the Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages:
- And the place - LYUDMYLA DIAKOVSKA, student of group 441;
- Second place - YANA RYABOKON, student of group 441;
- Third place - ELIZAVETA AVDEYEVA, student of group 242.
The award (diplomas and symbolic calendars) was given to all other participants.
Thanks and prizes were also awarded to teachers for preparing student work.
