Open practical lesson on "Fundamentals of translation cursive"

On April 23, an open practical lesson on "Fundamentals of Translation Cursive" was held in groups 241-242 (teacher - Associate Professor OA Yasynetska) at the Faculty of Social and Linguistic Communication as part of the English Language Week by the Department of English Philology and Translation. Students competently demonstrated knowledge and skills while performing appropriate tasks for the development of skills of conducting and reproducing in the language of translation important for the interpreter abbreviated recording of textual information of various volumes and formats. Tasks on "The World around Us" drew attention to the results of research (based on the audiotext "Earth has lost half of its trees because of humans"), the importance of personal responsibility for the modern world (based on the above) audio text and song "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson), the relevance of knowledge about the chronological correlation of world events and the use of common abbreviations to denote countries and international organizations (to record information about world events and international activities), and the importance of proclaiming and implementing an action plan inaugural speech (on the example of the video text "Donald Trump's Inauguration Speech, Jan. 20, 2017. Washington, DC"). The guests, who watched with interest the speed and competence of the students, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the original world of translator, full of extensive knowledge of international realities, interesting creative work, special skills and atmosphere of fruitful, inspired and effective cooperation.
