For May 16 - 17, 2019 in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) on the basis of the European University Viadrina held an international scientific conference "Rethinking Ukrainian studies: local, regional and transnational». The conference was attended by a lecturer at the Department of Domestic and Foreign History MM Kontsur.

The conference raised very relevant topics for Ukrainian studies, such as borders, borders, self-perception, and cultural identification, it was very nice to meet colleagues from Europe and America, many European universities, to get acquainted with the work of foreign Ukrainian scholars.

The conference participants made an attempt to conceptually rethink Ukrainian literature and history, the phenomenon of cultural, religious and linguistic heterogeneity in Europe. During the conference, new ideas for scientific circles were put forward and it was determined that Ukraine, with its complex history, cultural diversity, post-Soviet political pluralism and situational bilingualism, is a promising country for interdisciplinary research.
