Results of the BURN project managers meeting of 06/04/2025: progress and future steps

On 4.06.2025, an important meeting of project managers was held with the participation of representatives of partner universities. The main purpose of the meeting was to assess the current status of work on all work packages (WP), analyze the achieved results, prepare for the interim report and outline a strategy for further actions. The meeting presented key achievements and discussed plans for each work package:

WP 1: Project Management and Coordination

The national coordinator from TNPU, Iryna Zadorozhna, spoke. She emphasized that, in general, the overall progress is on schedule, reminded those responsible for the work packages of the need to prepare an Interim Report for the grantor and distributed responsibilities. It was decided to strengthen internal communication to ensure effective interaction between all teams. Iryna Zadorozhna also spoke about the difficulties with the procurement of some types of equipment for the university's Centers for Psychological Resilience and Well-being, and assured that work on resolving these issues is being carried out on an ongoing basis by responsible persons.

WP 2: Professionalization of crisis psychology at the university

The process of obtaining external expertise and approving training courses in crisis psychology is actively progressing. This is a key step for adapting programs to modern needs and implementing them in the educational process. University representatives reported on the status of reviewing new training courses. It was decided to complete this work by the beginning of the new academic year.

WP 3: Improving the university psychological service

The University of Tartu is responsible for this work package, and the tasks under it are being implemented according to plan. Study visits to European universities have been conducted, as well as a series of online trainings for psychologists who will ensure the work of the Centers for Resilience and Well-being in Ukrainian partner universities. Training programs for specialists of these centers are also being actively developed, which will ensure high quality of services. It was decided to finalize the training materials for the trainings and agree on a schedule for their implementation.

WP 4: Centers for Psychological Resilience and Well-being

The state of preparation for the launch of the University Centers for Resilience and Wellbeing at Ukrainian partner universities was discussed, including readiness to use new equipment purchased in the project. The goal of the centers, aimed at increasing the efficiency and accessibility of psychological services at universities, is to provide services to both students and faculty and staff, and to build interaction with the community. A draft of the provisions on the Center for Resilience and Wellbeing was presented. It was decided that the content of the provisions will be generally common, with the possibility of amendments by each university. These documents will be finalized taking into account the partners' proposals, for further approval by the Academic Councils of the relevant universities.

WP 5: Dissemination project results

The improvement and updating of the project website was assessed. It is planned to intensify the publication of news and materials to widely inform the public about the project's activities and achievements.

WP6: CONTROL Asatstand

Responsible for this work package, representatives of the GIIM, analyzed the feedback questionnaires from the participants of the roundtables on the organization of the work of the centers of resilience and well-being, visitors of the winter school, participants of the study trip to Estonia, and trainees of the training on the basics of motivational interviewing. They presented the participants with the generalized results of the survey. The survey was conducted to ensure continuous quality monitoring. In general, the vast majority of participants assessed the quality of the events as “very high” and “high”, and emphasized the practical significance of the information received, which indicates the thorough preparation of those responsible for these events. The wishes of the participants will allow to improve the quality of future events.

The meeting confirmed that the project is moving in line with the set goals. Project managers expressed confidence in further productive work and the successful achievement of all tasks.
