From April 27 to April 30, the traditional English Language Week dedicated to V. Shakespeare's birthday, international realities, cognitive and aesthetic preferences and professional achievements of students continued at the Department of English Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Social and Linguistic Communication.
The teachers of the department, together with the students, held online events that allowed them to immerse themselves more deeply in the culture of Great Britain (April 27, the event "50 modern facts about Great Britain"; organizers - associate professor V.O. Andrushchenko, students of groups 109a, 109g, 104a) . Meaningful stories and vivid presentations of students will remind you for a long time about the history, origin and modern life of the royal family, the famous character and humor of the British, their favorite national dishes, popular sports and arts, favorite premium car brands.
On April 27, students of group 141 and Assoc. O.A. Yasinetska, delving into the history of translation, honored those who from ancient times through the ages contributed to the development of translation studies, selflessly and at the cost of their lives ensured the development of languages and mutual understanding between peoples, formed the principles of high-quality translation and encouraged the recognition and improvement of scientific achievements, culture, life. English-language presentations, discussions and a meaningful test within the framework of the event were interesting and cognitively useful.
On April 28, an interesting mini-event for students of group 141, prepared by A.E. Sokolova, a teacher of the Department of English Philology and Translation, was interesting. After watching a motivational video, students actively discussed creative approaches to effective English language learning, including vocabulary recognition games and solving interesting logical puzzles. At the end of the event, students in high spirits made a motivational appeal: "Let's learn foreign languages, because each of them is a new window to the world!"
Among the entertainment events was a thoughtful round table "Human Rights in the Modern World" (April 29, organizers - senior lecturer O.Yu. Korolev, students of groups 441, 442), during which the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by UN of 1948. According to the Convention, all people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Everyone should be guaranteed all the rights and freedoms set forth in the Declaration, regardless of race, color, sex, language, religion, national origin, property or any other circumstance. Students also emphasized the rights that are important to them: the right to education, to work, employment guarantees. There was an interesting discussion about women's rights and political correctness.
On April 30, teachers of the department Assoc. Zoz O.A., art. off Gordienko S.H. and students of groups 405a and 406a together devoted themselves to English romantic poetry, represented by the works of outstanding romantic poets, such as: J. G. Byron, W. Blake, P. B. Shelley.
Another important event on April 30 was the defense of production translation practice from both foreign languages by students of groups 441 and 442, whose creative and professional presentations were listened to with pleasure and interest by the dean of the Faculty of Social and Language Communication Assoc. Marakhovska V.G., head of practice from the Institute of Medical Sciences, prof. Didkova V.V. and methodologists of translation practice from foreign languages Assoc. Yasinetska O.A. and Assoc. Need N.A. We are pleased to congratulate future graduates with professional achievements and recognition in the leading translation agencies of Ukraine; we wish that their competence, already marked by reviews, which even outside the institute was called impeccable and unique, will provide each of them with the highest achievements, maximum self-realization and sure success in life.
