We recently told you about the head of the Student Parliament, Mykhailitska Kateryna, who visited Turkey as a volunteer. There she met our wonderful graduate Victoria, who, after graduating from GIIIM, directed her strength and abilities in the right direction and reached the top!
Here's a little Victoria's success story. With this we want to show that the impossible is possible, as the song says;)
Victoria graduated from GIIIM in 2015, majoring in Ukrainian language and literature, English language and foreign literature. After finishing the 4th year, she entered the master's program.
But studying was impossible due to the occupation of the city, so she made many efforts to facilitate the relocation of her native university to the territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities: for this, she sent requests for help to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with several students of her faculty.
Later, Victoria took part in the all-Ukrainian forum "Immigrant Students", where she spoke personally with the Deputy Minister of Education Inna Sovsun regarding the state project of financing the education of students - IDPs. "During the year, I participated in many forums where I represented the interests of my university and consulted with government officials", says the graduate.
"After graduation, I worked in a cultural center as an animator, choreographer, and English teacher for children. Later, I was a project manager, received grants from Ukrainian and international organizations, implemented projects on various topics: inclusion, media literacy, creativity development, etc. for residents of my community, most of whom are IDPs. After some time, I started to travel, worked with children and as a hotel manager in the countries of the European Union.
The advantage of working abroad for me personally was that I practiced the language every day and developed my professional skills. It was interesting for me to try something new, to live in a different country with a different mentality, culture and traditions unfamiliar to me.
Currently, I live abroad most of the time, work online, learn a foreign language and continue to be socially active!"
Victoria got into the volunteer project in Turkey through selection by the "Stella" organization. To do this, she sent a resume and motivation letter, and the very next day she received confirmation of participation in the program!
"It was very unexpected for me to meet a student of the institute where I studied in Turkey. During the project, Kateryna showed herself as a professional teacher, working with refugee children (at the same time, she is a first-year student!)", - the graduate expressed her opinion.
"I wanted to wish the students not to waste a single moment to realize their dreams. Knowledge of foreign languages opens up great professional opportunities for you, you automatically move to a higher social level, discover a different life for yourself, filled with knowledge, discoveries and travels!"
So make your dreams come true!
"The very possibility of realizing a dream already makes life interesting"
