Destination for Children Project

Destination for Children Project

Finally, our student from the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Studies Olga Danich (group 211) returned from Turkey. Let us remind you that Olga took part in the Destination for Children project, which took place in Turkey. The project is related to volunteering.

Olga decided to share her impressions and emotions with us.

“Travels are always new discoveries and feelings. As we travel, we discover the world and ourselves the world. Only when we go on a journey, we can see with our own eyes distant countries and cities. Even the neighboring city can forever remain just a name for us, if we never go there.

And in each trip a separate magic for me is the road, the way to the destination. It is very interesting to watch the change of climate, nature, architecture and society outside the window of an airplane or bus, immerse yourself in your thoughts, listen to your favorite music or read a book. By the way, in such cases I often rethink many things, think about various problems, issues. And this is like a separate journey somewhere on the level of the subconscious - a journey of your own thoughts.

My trip on the project lasted two months. All transport and insurance costs were covered by Host Organis. Met very hospitably. The week was given for adaptation, walks around the city, meeting new people. We visited the office and the schools where we had to work. We were also given city maps and a package of money. We were assigned a mentor.

The following week we started our own activity. We developed various activities, got acquainted with children, held master classes. They also studied Turkish and conducted a "speaking club" in English. We visited the most beautiful corners of the city, museums.

We also shot an interesting video about the trip. They came up with projects for future volunteers.

In my free time I visited cafes where I listened to live music, got acquainted with Turkish traditions - after which I really fell in love with Turkey.

Events were held for us, where each of us prepared his national dish.

Now I have started to study Turkish in depth, because I really want to visit this most beautiful country in the world. Emotions are overflowing! I advise everyone to travel to Turkey - an extraordinary country thanks to the colorful customs and traditions. "

All people want to be happy, and most of us see our happiness in material goods. But there are people who feel joy not from things, but from positive emotions. It is only worth remembering how in the calendar we celebrate the days before the desired date - the day of the trip.
