Discussion of educational programs of the faculty of Romano-Germanic languages with stakeholders

On March 30, 2023, a meeting with external and internal stakeholders was held at the Faculty of Romano-Germanic Languages to review and update educational and professional programs (OP). In view of the contiguity of the subject area, the guarantors suggested combining the discussion of all programs of the faculty of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of HE. In the online format, employers and applicants expressed their feedback and suggestions regarding the organization and content of the OP training for bachelors and masters in the specialty 014.02 Secondary education (Language and foreign literature) "Language and literature (English and a second Western European language)", "Language and literature (German , English)" "Linguo-didactic strategies of teaching English, a second language"; and specialties 035 Philology: "Philology (English and a second Western European language)", "German studies: linguistics, literary studies, translation studies".

Olga Datskiv, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology and Methods of Teaching English at Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatyuk, emphasized the expediency of updating the graphic representation of the structural-logical scheme of the OP faculty, as well as the systematicity of second language training in the OP specialty 014 Middle education. Olena Lavrenko, director of the Bakhmut National Technical University "General Education School of the I-III century. No. 11 - multidisciplinary lyceum" offered to include the discipline "Speech image of a teacher" instead of "Pedagogical rhetoric" as part of the mandatory educational components for the OP training of bachelor teachers, which will significantly expand the professional competences of future teachers in terms of partnership pedagogy. Yuliya Rukavytsina, director of the Bakhmut secondary school of the 1st and 3rd centuries. No. 7, emphasized the urgent need for the formation of teacher competencies in the implementation of the principles of inclusive education and the achievement of learning outcomes related to the possession of nonviolent communication skills. Yevgenia Bulanova, deputy director of educational work of the KZO "Specialized secondary comprehensive school No. 9 with in-depth study of the English language" of the Dnipro City Council, noted the need for the formation of methodological competence of students in learning a foreign language in primary school in the context of the implementation of the NUS, as well as taking into account peculiarities of teaching an integrated course of foreign and Ukrainian literature at school during methodical training in foreign literature. Olha Kozachenko, director of the Ivanovo ZZSO I-II years, also expressed their feedback; Maryna Kabanets, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Language Training Department of the Donetsk National Technical University of Ukraine; Tetyana Kulish, director of the Bakhmut City Center for Technical Creativity of Children and Youth.

Our graduates and winners took an active part in the discussion. Thus, Victoria Usyk, a graduate of 2023, suggested paying more attention to the peculiarities of using information tools and online applications in the teacher's work. Valeriya Ryabikina, a graduate of 2020, emphasized the importance of theoretical language training in the work of a teacher and proposed to introduce the disciplines of theoretical phonetics and linguo-regional studies into the mandatory components of OP. Graduates of different years expressed their positive feedback: Vladyslava Bezborod, Olga Bysha, Nadiya Lukyanchuk, Oksana Agayeva, and winners Maria Pavlova and Ksenia Avdeyeva. Master's degree winner Mark Zharikov proposed to strengthen the practical component of translation training by increasing the volume of disciplines on the practice of translation of both the main and the second foreign language. Mark also emphasized the need to develop basic marketing skills of future teachers and philologists for effective self-promotion in social networks.
